Holiday Greeting - Make Something Memorable

| December 11, 2014

In addition to making wonderful memories during the holiday season, almost two-thirds of Americans – including people of all income levels – make the gifts they give to family and friends. It will come as no surprise more women than men give hand-made items.[1] If you’re looking for some great gifts to make, here are some ideas:

• Kahlua. It’s not difficult to whip up a batch of coffee-flavored liqueur. You need a decorative bottle, a personalized label, and a great recipe.[2]

• Gifts in jars. Layer dry ingredients for cookies, soup, chai tea, or any other treat in an attractive jar. Attach the instructions to a colorful bow and tie it around the lid.[3]

• Caramel popcorn. Homemade caramel corn is a wonderful treat, but it can be time intensive. Make it on a day when you don’t have too many other commitments.[4]

• Fleece blankets. Hand-made fleece blankets are easy to make. They require some cutting with scissors and knowledge of simple knots.[5]

No matter how you celebrate the holidays, we hope they will be happy and memorable!
